We invite you to come and have a look around at our preschool and see for yourself the different things we. We advise putting your child’s name early as we have an oversubscribed waiting list.

Once on the list the leadership endeavours to offer places fairly. When offering places we consider how long your child has been on the list, SEN requirements and siblings already attending as well as other factors.

We encourage carers to speak to us directly if there are any problems paying fees and we are happy to come to a resolution that suits both parties.  We aim to ensure financial stability of the Pre-school by having a fair and consistent process for pursuing non-payment of fees and this policy outlines the procedure that will be taken should carers not pay their fees on time using either the weekly or half-termly payment method.

As a team we are committed to working in partnership with parents and families of children who attend the group.   We recognise that children benefit from early years education and care when parents and settings work together in partnership.  This partnership is based on the belief that parents have specialist knowledge of their children and want the best for them.   Combined with our expert knowledge and understanding of children at this particular stage of development, we can provide the best for each child.

We aim to create a warm and welcome environment for parents, where they feel they can talk freely with staff.  There are always lots of displays, notices and leaflets to keep parents well informed about the work of the pre-school.

The decision to close the setting may be made by the manager, Whitkirk Primary School or on Government advice.  This may be due to the number of staff or children who are ill or due to the risk of spreading infections further.

We welcome all children and are committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity and inclusion amongst our staff, families and children. Inclusion is meant in the widest sense. In line with the Equalities Act 2010, no child will be refused admission to pre-school on the basis of his or her needs or ethnicity.  It includes individuals with special educational needs and/or a disability, as well as those from minority ethnic groups and any other diverse cultural groups. It also includes those with English as an additional language, Children in Public Care (looked After Children) and those with specific medical needs. We endeavour to make sure that we provide appropriate provision to enhance the setting and cater for the needs of all children enabling them to enjoy a full part in the daily life at the setting.

The staff member(s) responsible for Understanding Behaviour are Tori Pattison and Lizzie Booth.

We believe that children and adults flourish in an ordered environment in which everyone knows what is expected of them and children are free to develop their play and learning without fear of being hurt or hindered by anyone else. We aim to work towards a situation in which children can develop self-discipline and self-esteem in an atmosphere of mutual respect and encouragement.
