Templegate Foresters
Our Forest School sessions are something that we have spent a lot of time, over the last few years developing. It is an area of provision that is very close to our hearts.
Every child has an opportunity to visit our Forest School area at least once a week, supported by our Forest School Level 3 leaders. We visit in small, consistent groups to promote children’s sense of belonging and camaraderie.
Our focus is on building children’s holistic development, from physical skills, understanding and caring for the world around them to supporting their personal, social and emotional development.
Children will experience all the seasons and the changing landscape. They will learn about how to dress appropriately for the weather, how to build fires, how to be safe and how we use them. They will learn basic tool skills to create and learn how to build shelters. We visit the local woods at least once a half term.
It is our favourite time of the week!

What to Wear
We visit Forest School in all weathers and seasons. We recommend that each child brings lots of layers of clothing, waterproofs suits and wellies.
But don’t worry, we have plenty of spares if you are unable to get hold of waterproofs.
